About Lisa

Lisa Cannon (then Lisa Ritter) loved reading so much as a kid that she would sneak to finish books at night--reading under the covers, in her closet, and in the bathroom.  Her favorite place to read was in her backyard apple tree.  Lisa was a member of the library club and proudly labeled and alphabetized all the books in her own room.

She went to Kerby Elementary School, Brownell Middle School, and Grosse Pointe South High School in Michigan.  She then attended Harvard University, concentrating in History and Literature, and Georgetown University Law Center.  She practiced business litigation at Latham & Watkins in San Diego before coming to the University of San Diego School of Law to teach legal research and writing in 2005.

Her writing group blogs about crafting YA novels at YA Know (http://yaknow.livejournal.com).  She's a proud member of SCBWI.

Lisa lives in a little house in San Diego with her husband, son, daughter, and two fuzzy cats.  In her spare time, she plays violin in the University of San Diego Symphony.
